As we had started early and the weather was still looking good we concluded our days caching with a walk around Chaddleworth. This is not a planned series as such but we followed a circular-ish route of 3.7 miles with a couple of detours along the way.
We started from St. Andrew’s church in the village, the current building has a Norman 11th Century nave with 13th Century additions built on the remains of a Saxon church, but little of that remains. There are several caches in the area and with a little thought you can create a nice walk. We headed out through the church yard, around the back of Chaddleworth House and up to Spray Wood, then doubled back along the road to Nodmore war memorial before returning to Chaddleworth. Total distance 3.7 miles, 7 caches. (Trail completed Saturday 26th March).
