Around Kelmscott is short circular walk in around the little village in Oxfordshire. The series consists of 8 caches of vary sizes on a short stroll of around 1.75 miles. There was plenty of roadside parking near popular the local pub, which was starting to get busy when I arrived on Saturday lunchtime. Kelmscott village is a popular tourist spot attracting lots of muggles to the nearby Kelmscott Manor which is the former summer residence of William Morris, the famous English textile designer, artist and writer. Kelmscott Manor is a Grade 1 listed farmhouse near the River Thames built around 1600. The trail takes you past manor the entrance and you may like to combine a visit with your geocaching trip but please note that it is only open from April on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.
Around Kelmscott is a lovely little series, we started in the centre of the village and then headed out through the countryside then a long a short stretch of the River Thames before heading back towards the village passing the Manor house on the way. I’d have no hesitation recommending the trail.
