Trail Report – Prize Norton

After completing the new Kelmscott cache I went on to do the Prize Norton series which is close by. I have had the series on my to do list for a while and for whatever reason I had never managed to get out to it. The series starts from the West Oxfordshire village of Brize Norton which is the largest of all the RAF stations. The circular trail is made up of 6 caches all of which contain clues to the seventh and final bonus cache. The caches are all based on different types of military aircraft and each cache page contains a little piece of interesting information about each one.

I managed to find all the main caches, one of which was particularly tricky but following a few DNF’s it was pleasing to find it. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to find the bonus, either it had gone missing or I worked out the co-ordinates incorrectly. I found the bonus a little tricky to work out and interestingly the main series has had about 50 visitors but the bonus only 17. The CO has included some very good directions on each page to guide you around the 2 1/2 mile mini series through countryside.
