I really enjoyed the series and I picked a great day for it. The early part of the walk was a little busy with muggles though. All the caches were easy to find, I didn’t have trouble with any of them, you normally have difficulty with one or two along a route this big. Loved the multi at the hill fort it’s a great place with breathtaking views and I gave that one a favorite point along with the puzzle cache. Pip loved the walk, it was very dog friendly, no gates or stiles and no live stock. Overall an excellent series.
UWHT #31 Wayland’s Puzzle GC5A45A Found it
I parked at the Ashbury end of the byway so it was a long walk before we started the series but it was a lovely morning, warm and no wind. When I arrived at the notice board there wasn’t anyone about but soon doggiegrandma and uffinghamgreyhoud out on their morning walk followed by a group of walkers visiting the Wayland’s Smithy. I soon worked out what to do but it still took ages to get to the answer. Quick find when I got GZ and was pleased that I worked out the answer. I usually give up on these things.1st cache of the day

Onto the trial proper now, this would have been a better place to park, Quick find and spot on co-ordinates.
UWHT #02 GC5A3Z1 Found it
I hadn’t realised that after the last the GPS though the next nearest was no 30 and it was a while before I had realised that I there hadn’t been a bleep and then when I looked at the GPS we could have done with a few bleeps!! Back tracked a way to find this one but nice a quick.
UWHT #03 GC5A3Z7 Found it
It got busy along this section at this point, some muggles over took me but they were going very slow. Quick find.
UWHT #04 GC5A3ZC Found it
The muggles were very slow and I started to get frustrated with them. I found this one nice and quickly.
UWHT #05 GC5A3ZN Found it
I raced on ahead after the last one and overtook the muggles then quickly dived in for this one to keep ahead of them, but all this racing is making me hot.
UWHT #06 The Multi GC5A40C Found it
As you’d expect the place was very popular today with muggles, I was lucky to have picked a day with excellent visibility so could see for miles, fantastic views and a great multi – worth a fav point.
UWHT #07 GC5A40R Found it
More lovely views as we walked along the top of the hill and a quick find again here.
UWHT #08 GC5A40X Found it
Continuig over the top of the hill now taking a gentle downward slope. Quick find.
UWHT #09 GC5A416 Found it
We reached the end of the field and turn the corner taking the Lambourn Valley Way. Quick find.
UWHT #10 GC5A41C Found it
We were really enjoying the walk so far, nice views and dog friendly. Quick find at GZ and if you need a snails shell this could be the place to look.
UWHT #11 The Letterbox GC5A41M Found it
We had a very long walk across the gallops, luckily no horses only a mountain biker. It was a bit noisier here with the sound of a combine harvester in the next field gathering in the crop.
UWHT #12 GC5A41Z Found it
After such a long walk to previous cache we had a very short distance to this one. Quick find.
UWHT #13 GC5A423 Found it
Quick find here. My view was blocked by the tall hedgerow.
UWHT #14 GC5A42B Found it
It took a few moments to find this one, there is only one obvious place but it was a little buried so I didn’t find it straight away.
UWHT #15 GC5A42D Found it
We turned a corner and headed down hill along the edge of a field where a tractor was busy going up and down the field raking it over. Quick find.
UWHT #16 GC5A42R Found it
A nice downward slope took us to GZ. Quick find.
UWHT #17 GC5A42Y Found it
We came to the end of the path and quickly found the cache, now we have to cut across the field that has just been ploughed.
UWHT #18 GC5A434 Found it
The field was dry so we didn’t get gummed up with mud thankfully. Quick find.
UWHT #19 GC5A439 Found it
The path to GZ was a little overgrown so I walked along the edge of the field. Nice easy find just inside the woodland.
UWHT #20 GC5A43H Found it
We continued through the long path that covered the footpath, it doesn’t look like the path gets used very often. Quick find.
UWHT #21 GC5A43N Found it
The grass seemed even longer and glad I had long trousers. Quick find.Facebook[/url]
UWHT #22 GC5A43Y Found it
We continued on the slightly upward path passing some very tall stinging nettles. A nice quick find at GZ.
UWHT #23 GC5A442 Found it
The path was slightly better along here and quick find at the top of the hill.
UWHT #24 GC5A448 Found it
A nice wide path at this point. Quick find.
UWHT #25 GC5A44A Found it
A nice walk through the countryside open fields to one side and trees to the other. Quick find.
UWHT #26 GC5A44C Found it
A pleasant stroll up to GZ and good co-ordinates again led me straight to the cache.
UWHT #27 GC5A44H Found it
A quick find. Nice blue sunny sky now but the trees along here are keeping us cool.
UWHT #28 GC5A44M Found it
An easy find but what a whopper, I don’t understand why it isn’t classified as a large? It’s one of the biggest I’ve found.
UWHT #29 GC5A44Q Found it
Everything was all white here. Never knew there was a house along here, must be quite remote in the winter!
UWHT #30 GC5A44V Found it
