#1 The Valley of the Racehorse – Mr Frisk GC633X5 Found it
I parked in the village where there seemed to be several cars arriving with geocachers. It was a nice walk through the village to get to number 1, nice to see a clean log sheet.1st cache of the day found at 9:47:00 AM

#2 The Valley of the Racehorse – Party Politics GC6349G Found it
I walked up the flint track, it seemed a little colder as I got to the top but a nice quick find.2nd cache of the day found at 9:51:00 AM

#3 The Valley of the Racehorse Looks Like Trouble GC6349Y Found it
As I arrived I spotted some other cachers ahead of me just going into GZ, so I decided to wait for them to finish first. As they came out of GZ we had a little chat beore they went on their way and I searched out the cache.3rd cache of the day found at 10:06:00 AM

#4 The Valley of the Racehorse – Felstead GC634A1 Found it
I continued up the hill just as the other cachers were heading off. The track is a bit muddy up here. I located the cache quickly but I didn’t see the stamp.4th cache of the day found at 10:11:00 AM

#5 The Valley of the Racehorse – Grundy GC634A4 Found it
I passed the other cachers on the way up the hill as I did they warned me that this one may be difficult to find but as it was it was lying out in the open so straight forward enough.5th cache of the day found at 10:17:00 AM

#6 The Valley of the Racehorse – Sir Percy GC634A6 Found it
The track turned incredibly muddy along this section with some huge puddles to navigate around.6th cache of the day found at 10:21:00 AM

#7 The Valley of the Racehorse – Ayala GC634A8 Found it
More mud and more big puddles. My mind was wandering I don’t know what about but it made me over shoot the cache so had to walk back a few yards. As I got to the top of the hill it was quite misty and cold.7th cache of the day found at 10:26:00 AM

#8 The Valley of the Racehorse – Team Spirit GC634AB Found it
I slid my way along here, trying to avoid the puddles. The vesicles that drive up here have created deep trenches which are full of water. So with a hop, skip and a big jump I made it across them to get to the cache.8th cache of the day found at 10:30:00 AM

#9 The Valley of the Racehorse – Jay Trump GC634AF Found it
Thankfully the path along here was much better which made walking easier.9th cache of the day found at 10:34:00 AM

#10 The Valley of the Racehorse Burrough Hill Lad GC634AM Found it
I kept on the same track but unfortunately it became muddy once again. There was a land rover parked in the field, next to the trees, so I turned my back on it to sign the log book.10th cache of the day found at 10:38:00 AM

#11 The Valley of the Racehorse – Long Run GC634AQ Found it
I needed to avoid some puddles that stretched the whole width of the path, this meant walking along the edge of the track whilst watching out for rouge brambles inconveniently at head height. I reached the T junction and looked at my GPS to find that once again I had overshot, so back I went again.11th cache of the day found at 10:43:00 AM

#12 The Valley of the Racehorse – Binocular GC634AW Found it
The trail turned just before this one and the puddles continued. It looked like rain drops were splashing on them, but it was just the wet trees from the mist.12th cache of the day found at 10:48:00 AM

#13 The Valley of the Racehorse Pommern GC634B3 Found it
I continued along the track a bit further to get this one. All these clean log books are great.13th cache of the day found at 10:53:00 AM

#14 The Valley of the Racehorse – Bobs Worth GC634B5 Found it
The track improved considerably now as the path was now going down hill.14th cache of the day found at 10:59:00 AM

#15 The Valley of the Racehorse – See You Then GC634BA Found it
Still going down, much easier. This was a hard one to find. I went up the wrong side of the bank at first thanks to the GPS. Eventually I worked out where I was meant to be going and soon located the cache.15th cache of the day found at 11:07:00 AM

#16 The Valley of the Racehorse – Corbiere GC634BE Found it
I bit further downhill to a cross roads. I remembered walking along here on a previous trail and I had it in my mind that there were ostriches in the fields back then.16th cache of the day found at 11:13:00 AM

#17 The Valley of the Racehorse – Sprinter Sacre GC634BG Found it
The paths became muddy once again and it was quite tricky keeping to the side of the path without sliding into the puddles, thankfully I had my walking pole to stop me.17th cache of the day found at 11:18:00 AM

#18 The Valley of the Racehorse Esha Ness GC634BJ Found it
Slid my way here once again, it was very peaceful and quiet which helped me here some voices of some muggles as I left the area I spotted them at the end of the track.18th cache of the day found at 11:24:00 AM

#19 The Valley of the Racehorse – Remittance Man GC634BN Found it
Thankfully the muggles went up the hill and did not take my path so I was able to relax once again and enjoy the caching.19th cache of the day found at 11:28:00 AM

#20 The Valley of the Racehorse – Many Clouds GC634BQ Found it
Due to puddles and the mud it was slow going along this stretch. It took a few moments before my eye caught this little one in its hiding place.20th cache of the day found at 11:35:00 AM

#21 The Valley of the Racehorse – Anglo GC634BW Found it
As I entered the trees I heard a rustling noise and the sound of a panicked animal, it was of course a few deer that I had stumbled upon as I entered GZ.21st cache of the day found at 11:45:00 AM

#22 The Valley of the Racehorse – Royal Athlete GC634BX Found it
Just as I got to GZ I spotted some other fellows heading my way, they looked like geocachers so I shouted out to check before looking for this one. We had a good chat before they went on their way doing the series in reverse order. For me though this was the last one. Lots of mud and plenty of puddles made it hard to get around the series today, but I expected that to be the case at this time of year so I’m not complaining. I found all the caches which was most rewarding and met several cachers too, which was also nice. Thanks for putting out the series and maintaining it so well.22nd cache of the day found at 11:52:00 AM

LVW12 GC59JM4 Found it
Having completed the Valley Racehorse series, I headed down the road to find a few more caches on the way to Eastbury Fields series. This was a very cleverly hidden cache, I couldn’t see it at first and even picked it up and discarded it. Eventually I found it, although the hint meant nothing to me.23rd cache of the day found at 12:02:00 PM

REALLY SideTracked – Eastbury Halt GC5P3E2 Found it
Another cache that I found on the way to Eastbury Fields Series. I leant a little about local history on this one.24th cache of the day found at 12:05:00 PM

LVW13 GC59JMH Found it
The final one of 3 caches that I found on the way to the Eastbury series. Another one that was cleverly disguised, unfortunately no log book to sign.25th cache of the day found at 12:12:00 PM

28 Eastbury Fields GC694VR Found it
I completed the Valley of the Racehorses series in the morning and stopped for lunch before starting the series. A nearby hay store provided a comfortable seat for the lunch stop. Suitably refueled I began this series, doing it in reverse order.26th cache of the day found at 12:38:00 PM

27 Eastbury Fields GC694VC Found it
I headed up the hill, thankfully it wasn’t too steep. It was a grey, cloudy afternoon but not cold and it was dry which was nice.27th cache of the day found at 12:41:00 PM

26 Eastbury Fields GC694TW Found it
The hard track turned into a grass track, but not muddy. On arrival the cache wasn’t hidden by anything so after signing the log book I left it suitably covered.28th cache of the day found at 12:44:00 PM

25 Eastbury Fields GC694TQ Found it
Still climbing up the hill, it was a gentle walk up and nothing too taxing.29th cache of the day found at 12:48:00 PM

24 Eastbury Fields GC694TK Found it
I continued up the hill and looked from this point that I was nearly at the top.30th cache of the day found at 12:51:00 PM

22 Eastbury Fields GC694T7 Found it

21 Eastbury Fields GC694T1 Found it
The path began going back down now, I didn’t realise that the area really was called Eastbury fields until I looked at the map, I thought it was something the CO had made up.33rd cache of the day found at 1:02:00 PM

20 Eastbury Fields GC694RW Found it
I reached the bottom of the hill and was amazed to find where the cache was hidden, I couldn’t help thinking that it wouldn’t be long before it goes missing.34th cache of the day found at 1:05:00 PM

19 Eastbury Fields GC694RP Found it
Another slight uphill walk and just as I got near GZ three horses appeared at the top of the hill, so I worked fast just in case they came down the hill, they didn’t, do I needn’t have worried.35th cache of the day found at 1:08:00 PM

18 Eastbury Fields GC694RJ Found it
There was a long distance between the caches this time but it was a nice walk.36th cache of the day found at 1:15:00 PM

17 Eastbury Fields GC694R4 Found it
There were some good views over the fields on the way here, after finding the cache I headed on down the hill avoid the large rabbit holes that scattered the path.37th cache of the day found at 1:19:00 PM

16 Eastbury Fields GC694QQ Found it
A muddy track greeted me as I turned the corner at the bottom of the hill. I could see some muggles at the end of the track, or were they cachers?38th cache of the day found at 1:27:00 PM

15 Eastbury Fields GC694QE Found it
The muggles turned out to be cachers, PMDown (DEAF), we passed each other along the muddy track, but after turning the corner again, I was away from the mud.39th cache of the day found at 1:36:00 PM

14 Eastbury Fields GC694Q3 Found it
This one marked the half way point on the series and I was going very strong, all the caches so far had been nice and easy to find.40th cache of the day found at 1:39:00 PM

13 Eastbury Fields GC694PP Found it
It did seem a bit pointless having left part of an old fence here.41st cache of the day found at 1:43:00 PM

12 Eastbury Fields GC694PG Found it
Now onto a tarmac road that would see me all the way to the end.42nd cache of the day found at 1:46:00 PM

11 Eastbury Fields GC694PA Found it
I continued up the hill and could here a loud noise somewhere behind me, it was big tractor, but it turned into the field.43rd cache of the day found at 1:50:00 PM

10 Eastbury Fields GC694P4 Found it

Done. All caches found. Glad I did this as the second series of the day as it was much easier to walk than the one on the other side. All the founds were nice and quick to find and in good order, which is what I like on a series. Unfortunately it was still a bit foggy this afternoon but at least it was dry and not too cold. Thanks for the series.53rd cache of the day found at 2:18:00 PM
